“If you need your vintage Merc expertly fixed or restored, look no further. Benjamin is your man. He is a fountain of knowledge, great to deal with, and has never failed to get the job done to the highest standard. I have had two W124 over the past years, and the only regret I have is that – on a couple of occasions – I looked for a quick fix and went elsewhere. I always regretted the decision and ultimately ended up getting the problem fixed by Benjamin. While there are some folks who might seem cheaper, I found that cutting corners or dealing with cowboys has always ended up costing more. I can highly recommend Benjamin, and I don’t think there’s anyone in Ireland who has more expertise them him when it comes to classic Mercedes.”

I left my recently acquired 300CE with Benjamin so that he could fix the rough idle. I was encouraged to hear that he eliminated a number of know faults as causes, but most importantly solved the rough idle without having to take the expensive option. Car now runs smooth. I was looking for someone who will look after my car long term. After the way Benjamin fixed the fault with rough idle while keeping my kept me up-to-speed on progress, I am convinced he is the right person to trust with my car.”

“I am very pleased with the services provided by Lichtenberg Classics. I have used Benjamin on a couple of occasions and I have been very pleased with the results each time. The latest visited caused a number of problems trying to source the correct parts for my 1983 Mercedes W126, and Benjamin patiently accepted my car being parked at his premises for the best part of two months until we found the correct parts in Germany.
I have full confidence in Benjamin’s work, and it is always a pleasant experience visiting his premises.”

I bought my immaculate, ultra low mileage 450SLC from Benjamin in 2016 and it’s run faultlessly since, needing only routine maintenance. It was the best, most original car I’d come across having looked for a long time for such a good example and had been fastidiously maintained. I made the trip from London to Ireland to look at it – Benjamin was a pleasure to deal with and the car continues to bring me a great deal of enjoyment. “

For the benefit of any readers unsure as to whom they should turn to with confidence for specialist renovation and service, I wholeheartedly recommend Benjamin Lichtenberg of Lichtenberg Classics. Ben has been looking after my R107 500SL and W123 230E with great technical expertise for several years now and I have always found him to be both professional and highly personable.”

It’s 20 years since I purchased my 1969 280SEC Coupe in London and for the last few five or six years, it’s had a misfiring in the engine. It emerged that the fuel injection pump was ill.  I have known Lichtenberg Classics for a number of years and decided to appoint Benjamin to look after the job (as well as a complete fuel tank overhaul and more…). I am delighted to say that after a couple of months of high quality mechanical and engineering work, my 48 year old car now runs like a brand new car !  I therefor, highly recommend Lichtenberg Classics.”

I recommend anyone with a Classic Mercedes to go to Lichtenberg Classics. Benjamin has superior knowledge when it comes to these cars. I only wish I had taken my 280 CE to Lichtenberg Classics long before now, the best thing for the long term health of a vintage car is to take it to an expert like Benjamin.

Ben threads the line between passion and profession. He has a true passion for vintage Mercedes’ and has built an incredibly organized and professional garage, specifically tailored to the requirements of restoration work.
It’s so clean and organized, and it fills you with confidence that your pride & joy is in safe hands.
Ben relishes a good challenge and works methodically through, he is also very thurough with his followup and presentation of costs etc.
I have used Lichtenberg Classics regularly and will continue to do so for as long as I own a vintage Merc. Would recommend every time”
